(Music written and recorded by Agrippa in 2010)
Nocturnal is the 6th song released from Agrippa’s Laboratory, the solo project of Agrippa. The song’s music and style draws heavy influence from the industrial band, Ministry.
Lyrics: Nocturnal’s lyrics reflect an exaggerated view of Agrippa’s preference for night.
Lyrics written by Agrippa in 2010.
Silhouette of the trees
against a blackened sky
The shifting shadows
Never deceive my eyes
Recognize the moonlight
As my source of life
Animated only
By the darkest of night
I breath the night
And it brings me to life
Soak up the magick
of the full moon light
Sunset at last I come alive
I sense the moon will soon arise
Another night for me to thrive
In my nocturnal way of life
Never a child of the burning sun
The light of daybreak it feels like a ton
Born of night to the silver moonlight
The lunar glow in the darkest of night
Sunset at last I come alive
I sense the moon will soon arise
Another night for me to thrive
In my nocturnal way of life
Nocturnal, nocturnal
Nocturnal, nocturnal
I breath the night air to feel alive
I shun the daylight to live the night
I breath the night air to feel alive
I shun the daylight to live the night
Nocturnal, nocturnal
Nocturnal, nocturnal
Sunset at last I come alive
I sense the moon will soon arise
Another night for me to thrive
In my nocturnal way of life
In Studio: Nocturnal was produced and engineered by Agrippa in 2010. The song was developed from intro synth bass part that was originally part of the mid section of the A-Lab song Digital Remains. That section was cut from Digital Remains for better continuity and used to create a new song, which resulted in Nocturnal.
Aside from the synth intro, guitars and the foundation drum programming were recorded during the Digital Remains session, however all remaining instrument tracks and lyrics were written within 3 days in the studio prior to being released.
Agrippa – Vocals, guitars, sequencer, synths, bass programming, drum programming.
