Open Wound was the first Agrippa93 song written and recorded. It received favorable reviews from online music sharing websites and remains to be a fan favorite. Since its beginning, the song has been released in new and improved version with the last update being in 2004. Open Wound is part of the 2004-2008 Recording Sessions collection.

Lyrics: Unlike almost every song following this one, Open Wound started with lyrics and vocal melody and evolving into a full composition. The theme of the song is addiction personified, however it does not target any specific type of addiction and applies to any substance or behavioral abuse.

Anyone who has experience addiction knows that it never really goes away forever, lurking around the corner and waiting for you in your weakest and most vulnerable moment. One slip would lead to the downward spiral of addiction. The lure of the seductive voice of unreason drawing closer to open up those wounds thought left behind.

In Studio: The music of Open Wound was originally composed using GarageBand in 2003 with only 5 tracks. The current version, which is its 4th incarnation, was finalized, mixed and mastered using Logic Pro in 2004 with expanded layers, additional supporting tracks, and a completely rewritten guitar line. In addition, guest bassist Matt Thornton was the first musician other than Agrippa to appear on an Agrippa93 song until 2008.
