“Scott had this song brewing for years before joining A93, but never had any lyrics for it. I’d never read the book before so it was a huge challenge to convert the story into lyric form summarized in just a few lines. I managed to get my hands on the audiobook version and loved the whole concept of someone actually killing Death and having to unwillingly take on his office. I focused on just the part in the beginning of the story when the main character is attempting suicide and is visited by Death to take his soul away. In an instant reaction he shoots Death instead and then has to take his place.” – Agrippa

In Studio: Pale Horse was produced by Agrippa and William and engineered by Agrippa. Williams had been working on the song for a number of years before joining the band, however it was not completely fleshed out until bringing it into the studio as an A93 piece.
